England is the only European team to have reached the semi-finals of both the 2018 World Cup and the Euro 2020 tournaments.
Gareth Southgate hopes England can embark on a "fantastic journey" at the World Cup to bring the country "true happiness."
On Monday, the Three Lions kick off their World Cup campaign against Iran.
"Our challenge is to give our supporters a memorable tournament," Southgate said.

England players will take a knee, according to Southgate.
England enters the game as favorites, but their manager says his players must be patient if they do not score early.
"Our team has been pretty creative and successful in overcoming those challenges," Southgate said. "We know we can't be frustrated if it takes us a while to score because teams playing against Iran find it difficult to score goals."

Iran coach Carlos Queiroz, a former Manchester United assistant manager, believes England is a contender for the tournament.
