UFC 300 Pereira vs Hill

There will be fights for two championship belts among the many current and previous champions on the 300th pay-per-view show of the UFC, which is being celebrated. Champion after champion appears at UFC 300. The 300th pay-per-view card of the Ultimate Fighting Championship features combatants that serve as a reminder to fans of the brutal and frequently bizarre reality of mixed martial arts. Twelve fighters in the 13 bouts on the UFC 300 card have held a UFC title at some point in their careers. This is a great way to promote the pay-per-view, which can be purchased in the US for $79.99 with an ESPN+ subscription, and it also serves as a timely reminder of how difficult it is to win a title and capitalize on the fame that comes with it. The current light heavyweight champion, Alex Pereira, rose to prominence in a bigger class by positioning himself as a counterbalance to Israel Adesanya, one of the greatest names in the sport. After suffering two defeats in 2021, Zhang Weili had to bo

According to Patrick Beverley, 50% of NBA players do not enjoy the game: 'It's the wildest s--- on the planet.'

Patrick Beverley has made a name for himself in the NBA as a tenacious, sometimes contentious defender who has aided a variety of teams during his 11-year career. He's also not afraid to speak his mind, and the upcoming free agent who spent this season with the Chicago Bulls recently shared an interesting viewpoint on his fellow NBA players.

Beverley stated on The Pat Bev Podcast that, in his opinion, 50% of NBA players do not enjoy basketball. The sentiment appears inflammatory at first, but Beverley explained exactly what he meant, comparing the necessary NBA preparation to a romantic courtship. He said that before you even go on a first date, you should buy flowers and make restaurant reservations.

"Can you now channel all that energy into basketball?" Beverley explained. "Is it watching a movie?" Is it more shots? Is it a game of free throws? Is it using off-hand s---? Is it worth working on shots you may never use just to have something in your back pocket? Preparation: how well prepared are you? Do you understand the coach's philosophy? Do you understand what the coaches expect from you? It may differ from what you expect from yourself."

Beverley was then asked if he's ever had teammates who he didn't think loved the game, and he revealed, somewhat surprisingly, that they're usually the most talented.

"Most of my teammates who don't care about basketball are the really f---ing good ones -- the most skilled ones." "It's the wildest s--- on the planet," Beverley exclaimed. "When you have so much talent, preparation is different." You could simply show up to the game and receive an m-----f---ing 30, 40. That could work against less talented opponents. But in the playoffs, you can't do that."

It's understandable that Beverley takes preparation so seriously. He is not one of the naturally gifted athletes who, according to him, can still perform at a high level without putting in the effort. After beginning his career in Europe, Beverley has been an integral part of winning teams such as the Houston Rockets and the Los Angeles Clippers.

Beverley began the 2022-23 season with the Los Angeles Lakers before being traded to, and then waived by, the Orlando Magic prior to the trade deadline. In 22 games with the Bulls, he averaged 5.8 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 3.5 assists. This offseason, the 34-year-old will be an unrestricted free agent.
