UFC 300 Pereira vs Hill

There will be fights for two championship belts among the many current and previous champions on the 300th pay-per-view show of the UFC, which is being celebrated. Champion after champion appears at UFC 300. The 300th pay-per-view card of the Ultimate Fighting Championship features combatants that serve as a reminder to fans of the brutal and frequently bizarre reality of mixed martial arts. The MTV Movie & TV Awards have canceled their live event due to a strike.

NEW YORK (AP) — The MTV Movie & TV Awards, the first major live awards show to air during the current screenwriters' strike, has reverted to a pre-recorded event as it attempts to chart a celebratory course through a turbulent Hollywood.

Drew Barrymore, the show's host, had already stepped down in solidarity with the writers, and the red carpet had been rolled up. The Writers Guild has still promised to picket, which means that celebrities and presenters will have to walk past demonstrating writers in order to enter the venue. MTV canceled the live event entirely late Saturday.

"We're pivoting away from a live event that still enables us to produce a memorable night full of exclusive sneak peeks, irreverent categories our audience has come to expect, and countless moments that will both surprise and delight," said Bruce Gillmer, an MTV executive producer, in a statement.

"Avatar: The Way of Water" competes for best film. "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever," "Elvis," "Nope," "Scream VI," "Smile," and "Top Gun: Maverick" are among the films in the series.

"Stranger Things," "The Last of Us," "The White Lotus," "Wednesday," "Wolf Pack," "Yellowstone," and "Yellowjackets" are among the best TV shows nominated.

One thing is certain: Jennifer Coolidge is a winner. Coolidge, who is nominated for two awards, will also receive the Comedic Genius Award.

After years of comedic work in films such as "Best in Show," "Legally Blonde," and "American Pie," Coolidge has risen to the A-list with winning performances in both seasons of "The White Lotus." She is the sixth person to receive the award, which was last given to Jack Black in 2022.

Coolidge is also nominated for two awards on Sunday, including best-frightened performance for "Shotgun Wedding" and the best comedic performance for "The White Lotus."

Individual nominees for best performance in a film include Austin Butler, "Elvis;" Florence Pugh, "Don't Worry Darling;" KeKe Palmer, "Nope;" "Creed III," starring Michael B. Jordan, and "Top Gun: Maverick," starring Tom Cruise.

Aubrey Plaza, "The White Lotus," Christina Ricci, "Yellowjackets," Jenna Ortega, "Wednesday," Riley Keough, "Daisy Jones & The Six," Sadie Sink, "Stranger Things," and Selena Gomez, "Only Murders in the Building," compete for best performance in a TV show.

Best hero, best villain, best comedic performance, best kiss, breakthrough performance, best fight, most frightened performance, best duo, best movie song, best competition series, and best host are among the other categories for the golden popcorn statuette. This year, two new categories have been added: best reality on-screen team and best badass cast.

MTV will broadcast the 2023 MTV Movie & TV Awards on Sunday, with simulcasts on BET, BET Her, Comedy Central, CMT, Logo, MTV2, Nickelodeon, Paramount Network, Pop, TV Land, and VH1.
