Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs was named 'Best NFL Player' at the 2023 ESPY Awards.
The Kansas City Chiefs and ace quarterback Patrick Mahomes are certain to win tonight in Los Angeles.
According to ESPN's Field Yates, Mahomes has already won "Best NFL Player" at tonight's ESPY Awards, which will be announced during the network's afternoon studio show "NFL Live."
The win is one of three dominoes on the line for the Chiefs tonight, as they will have to wait until the live event to know if they will also win 'Best Team' and Mahomes will win 'Athlete of the Year.' In 2022, Mahomes topped the NFL in yards (5,250), touchdowns (41) and touchdown percentage (6.3%) while leading the Chiefs to their second Lombardi Trophy in four years.
Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs was named earlier this week as a presenter on tonight's show, and he could be there to assist celebrate another ESPY victory. Mahomes is likely to attend as well, and may win the other honor for "Athlete of the Year."
The Capitol One ESPY Awards, which support the V Foundation, will air today at 7:00 p.m. CT on ABC.
