Croatian coach Dalic's contract has been extended until 2026.

Croatia's most successful coach, Zlatko Dalic, has extended his contract until 2026, the country's football federation (HNS) announced on Saturday.

Dalic led Croatia to their first World Cup final in Russia in 2018, where they were defeated by France. He led his team to the Qatar World Cup semi-finals, where they were defeated by eventual champions Argentina, and to the Euro 2020 last 16.

Croatia went on to defeat Morocco in the third-place play-off in Qatar, advancing to the final four of the Nations League finals in June.

Dalic, who took over in 2017, will now be in charge until the 2026 World Cup.

He called his job the "greatest honor and pleasure that a coach can have".

"I have a strong desire to continue working with Croatia... there are still many significant challenges ahead of us," the 56-year-old said.
