The football team from Bangladesh begins practice in advance of FIFA World Cup qualifying.

 


Prior to the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualification round-2 matches at the Bashundhara Kings Arena in Dhaka on Monday evening, the Bangladesh National Football team began practicing.

On November 16, Bangladesh will travel to Melbourne, Australia, to play their World Cup second round Group I away encounter against a more formidable Australia.

Booters will depart for Melbourne on Friday to compete in the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualification round. Bangladesh is expected to depart for Melbourne on November 10 following a brief training camp led by Spanish Head Coach Javier Cabrera in Dhaka prior to their last practice session in Melbourne. Following their return from Australia, the team will play their AFC Cup home game against Lebanon on November 21 at Bashundhara Kings Arena in Dhaka.

Bangladesh defeated the Maldives 2-1 to advance to the second round of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

After defeating the Maldives in the first round encounter last month, Bangladesh secured the opportunity to compete in the six-match Group I home and away matches in the Asian qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup alongside Australia, Lebanon, and Palestine.

Prior to joining the residential camp, the Bangladeshi squad's booters who were initially chosen, with the exception of Bashundhara King's booters, reported to team manager Amer Khan on Monday morning at the Hotel Amari in the capital.
