Brazil and Argentina are aiming for a blockbuster World Cup semi-final.

Is Brazil vs Argentina coming in the FIFA World cup Semi Final?

Brazil will attempt to become the first team to reach the World Cup semi-finals on Friday, while Argentina could set up an all-South American showdown if they defeat the Netherlands.

After three weeks of high-octane action, only eight teams remain as the 32-nation tournament returns to the knockout rounds after a two-day break. Brazil, the five-time champions, face Croatia in the quarter-finals, with Neymar fit and firing again after suffering an ankle injury in the opening game.
"I'll do everything in my power to win with the Brazilian national team; that's our mission and our dream," Neymar said.

"We're getting closer; we need to take another step."

Croatia is a much different team than the one that reached the final four years ago, but 37-year-old Luka Modric remains the engine that drives them.

"I agree that we did a great job getting to the quarter-finals, but we want to do more," said Modric, who will face Real Madrid teammates Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo, and Eder Militao in the match at Education City Stadium.
"We know the biggest game is ahead of us, and Brazil is always a favorite, so we have to be ourselves."

Lionel Messi, the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner, is hoping to finally end Argentina's eight-year wait for a World Cup title after losing the final to Germany in extra time.

The Copa America champions face the Netherlands in the second quarter-final on Friday at Lusail Stadium, which will host the final on December 18.

The two countries have met five times in World Cup history, including 1978 final, which Argentina won 3-1 after extra time. Argentina has never won a 90-minute match against the Dutch.
It will be a rematch of their 2014 semi-final meeting in Brazil, which the South Americans won on penalties after a 0-0 draw after 120 minutes.

"I was there in 2014, and things ended slightly differently (than we wanted), but I'd like to change that now," Dutch forward Memphis Depay said during a pre-match press conference.
